NMFT VOL. 9

A punchy and LOOK & FEEL FOR NEXT MUSIC FROM TOKYO VOL. 9,
A UNIQUE UNDERGROUND JAPANESE CONCERT SERIES HELD IN CANADA

NMFT is a unique concert series featuring half a dozen relatively unknown Japanese bands flown to Canada for a kick-ass concert. This is my personal attempt at giving Vol. 9 an unofficial look and feel through keepsake memorabilia such as tickets, posters, hand fans, and coasters. Vol 9's eclectic line-up had informed my theme of Japanese summer. Combining illustrations with distinctly Japanese graphics of sun rays, flowers, and waves, this aesthetic sharply contrasts against the usually cool graphics of local (Toronto) band posters.

Stealing The Show

Being an indie event, all promotional material is designed to be executed in a guerrilla fashion, and cheaply made with few colours and cost effective materials.

The main objectives was to develop bright and eclectic memorabilia scattered around the venue, encouraged to be taken home by the concert-goers. The bright colours would not only capture the punchy sounds of the band, but also stand out in dark venue environments. In application, there would be no merchandise available and fans would be encouraged to bring home any merchandise they could find lying around the venue.

I am completely unaffiliated with NMFT and this project does not reflect NMFT's value or vision in any way.
